Snapchat offers recipes after scanning products
If you’re considering the most interesting way to use AR, Snapchat may definitely surprise you with their answer: scan products, and the app offers you what you can cook with them.
The new option is called “Food Scan” and works in combination with the sites allrecipes.com and wikipedia.com, which offer information on over 1,200 products and about 4,500 dishes. Of course, there is one basic requirement: the products are not packaged, because technology cannot recognize most of them.
You should also be careful when scanning, because a second of inattention and low light can lead to the “transformation” of cherry tomatoes into cherries or pea puree into avocado. Forget about ginger: many users have tried to scan it, but the option refuses to recognize it as a food product. After all, it is always possible to add a dose of interpretation – it is the basis of culinary art.
