Dragon Age creative director Matt Goldman leaves BioWare
According to Kotaku, BioWare general manager Gary McKay announced Goldman’s departure in a letter to studio staff saying the decision was made by mutual consent.
The head of the studio noted that he understands how the departure of the lead developer could affect the team, but EA still intends to release high-quality Dragon Age, and it will not be released until it meets the studio’s quality standards.
As noted on the network, Goldman’s departure was as sudden as possible, especially given that the employees were informed about this in a letter from the head of the studio. Back in mid-November, the developer published personal entries about the franchise on his Twitter.
Matt Goldman has worked in the studio for over 20 years, having a hand in early BioWare titles like Neverwinter Nights, Baldur’s Gate II, and Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic.
